At times in life we all become a leader of some sort, often people look up to us when we don't see it and model aspects of their lives on our. Other people are always watching us. Parent's are leaders too, how we behave leaves lasting impressions.
But what about a volunteer leader, a paid manager, boss, or even a spiritual leader; a priest or pastor. The stakes are higher when we claim to live by a higher standard to even represent God on earth, but what happens when our Sunday's best doesn't flow through in all areas to reflect Sundays Son and inevitably God and others around us become Sundays Trash in the hearts and minds of others due to the way we handle things.
Do we cause another to have an internal frown, to break their heart within?
"Sundays Son Mondays Trash" explores a story using names to help the listener connect their own lives and situations to things they may have faced by someone in a position of authority. It's a story I have unfortunately done with others, when at the time I was thinking I am doing the right thing; yet it caused harm or distress in anothers life by not truly following the higher standard I claimed to live by and represent.
When reviewing aspects of my life years later I learnt my heart was not right and I confess this in these lyrics. Sadly, this is a story I have seen done towards others on countless occasions and faced myself at the hands of those who claim to live by a higher standard as well.
The answer is to truly come to understand who Sundays Son is, to journey in life fully by His standard and treat others like Sundays Son.
