Sydney-based country-pop artist Amy Solylo has released her debut single He Wants Me (Dead) – a witty, tongue-in-cheek take on delusion, denial and the stories we tell ourselves when love takes a turn.
Combining sharp lyricism with catchy, contemporary country production, the track captures the chaos of convincing yourself someone still wants you even after being blocked, ghosted and given every indication that they don’t.
Written in a single night from rejection and out of retaliation, the song’s lyrics remain entirely unchanged from first draft to final recording, preserving the raw and candid storytelling at its core.
The release is supported by a creative grassroots campaign, including physical “Wanted” posters featuring QR codes and collaborations with a local line dancing community.
The single will be celebrated with a launch show in Sydney on May 8 at Jolene’s.
