Sonic, light, and beauty capturing are what David Thierry saw when he took an atmospheric dive into ‘Six Waves’. Blending algorithmic artistry with static, electric, and cinema creates the out-of-this-world feel of something so deeply rooted. Although every note resonates on its own, every piece complements the other and creates an out-of-the-world experience. The first piece of the album, “Casualty”, begins with a mystery that seems to be ever-expanding. The ethereal sounds form a spellbinding synthesis, where the soft sounds are layered beautifully below a foundation of shimmering synths and beats, providing the eerie feel of an alternate reality.
Evolving, the track “Into the Wave Axis” maintains structure within the spheres of pulsations. A feeling of enjoying a hypnotic melody is what defines these rhythms, light yet heavy words softly drifting in the distance through the otherworldly space. The way melodies drift in and out, floating away and returning feels dreamlike and hypnotic. Moving a step back towards structure creates space for “Elliptical Tales” where the intricate wave notes take control of the bass and the deep electronic beats. It creates a fluid motion and brings a sense of exploration, capturing somewhere between reality and fantasy. The most energetic track on the album. “Ultrasonic Vibes”, is the most lively of the tracks. It features crisp beats and fluid synth work which is engaging. The track has an almost completely meditative groove. It is, at the same time, calming and stimulating.
“Submarine Whispers” is slower than the previous pieces, giving listeners an underwater experience of deep sounds. It reaffirms the emotions of the previous piece, which were vast and drifting in the ocean of sound compliments the echoes and reverb.
The reflective piece “The Sixth Wave” is one of the closing tracks on the album. It serves a haunting blend of soft ambient textures cloaked in ghostly melodies. It has soft and gentle sounds that make the listeners feel and serve in the void, floating between reality and dreams. ‘Six Waves’ achieves a sense of deep immersion that requires undistracted attention which is why some may consider it a game. Thierry David smartly creates an atmosphere that feels limitless, making this album a perfect choice for those who love ambient soundscapes and cinematic electronic music.
