Dead Tooth released an exciting new single, “Birthday Boohoo”, through Greenway Records. The Queens, NY, foursome rock post-punk noise and love for chaotic energy. They seem to play agitated guitar and pointed lyrics and wail it through a saxophone, creating a blend that feels new and primal simultaneously. Tom Beaujour (Nada Surf, Pom Pom Squad) produced the single, and this fits perfectly with their concep, the sound is unique, undisguised, and purposeful, twisted but in harmony.

DEAD TOOTH

“Birthday Boohoo” is not only an ordinary song from a band. It’s an artist Pools’ exceptional effort; all members contributed to this song. Band explains, ‘We had it all in our hands, and we shaped a piece of clay’, and you feel that. The music starts and ends with an engaging hook, embedding listeners into a maelstrom of electrifying instruments and deep, dark vocals. What’s especially interesting is that the remix is done by Oliver Ackermann of the band from A Place To Bury Strangers, who created a disturbing atmosphere on the B-side. Just in time for Halloween, the band explores horror and chaos in their music, and it appears that Dead Tooth is inclined to embrace intense, sonorous, and aggressive sounds. Refused fans, At the Drive-In, and The Jesus Lizard fans will fit right in.

The single comes out before a wide-reaching and ambitious tour of Europe with Covered cities such as Berlin, Paris, and London. For the UK audience, the November dates will be exciting, with The Shacklewell Arms in London and Big Hands venue in Manchester among those slated to witness their live sets. If you have not watched Dead Tooth perform live, you have not lived; their Live shows are a sonic barrage that is furious and full of energy. New music makes sense for people to forget who they are with Innocent People like NME and Spin at the helm. “Birthday Boohoo” is a good song, it marks the position Dead Tooth belongs to today’s punk rock.
