‘Problem Child’ emerged on June 6, 2025, as an unfiltered exploration of Baton Rouge artist Mandeaux’s mental landscape. Mandeaux’s project combines personal rawness with precise production influenced by artists like Future, Deftones, Nirvana, and Skrillex. Underground rage music production creates a powerful charged atmosphere throughout the album. Mandeaux single-handedly created every track through a “man vs. computer” process which resulted in music that showcases his personal touch of emotion and power. This music originates not from a lab but from a room where artists work under pressure and demonstrate persistence. Mandeaux transforms spontaneous mastering into raw isolation fuel to ensure his work remains loud, restless and unmistakably his personal expression.
“NO DRAMA!” serves as a powerful introduction to the album with its forceful style and audacious beats paired with challenging lyrics. In “PROBLEM+ANSWER”, Mandeaux deepens his self-reflection through the exploration of duality as both the source of conflicts and their solutions. The tempo increases in “FIRESTARTER” as distorted vocals mix with pounding drums while “SWAGOUT” adds playful elements but maintains its gritty texture. The track “iiihatedeaux” stands as the album’s most intimate song because it removes all layers to deliver a direct message from the artist’s inner self. “COOKINGWITKYA” delivers its chaos beautifully through intense flashes of anger and confidence that shine brightly.
Closing out the album, “HOW U?” offers a serene break before “kno me” returns with intense tension and distrust. “OVERBOARD” brings the album to a close with an intense emotional punch that overwhelms listeners with its speed and honesty. The visual and creative tone was developed by collaborators Hauntore, Angelscantsin, Lavelle and VMPS across all tracks but ‘Problem Child’ remains Mandeaux’s creation. The upcoming Floating World Fest performance in Houston reveals that this release extends beyond an album drop and serves as a warning shot. Mandeaux is here, loud, flawed, and real.
