The Emotional Album ‘Before the Void’ by Ales Tsurko brings out his memories of simple and beautiful moments in life. It is a combination of classical and electronic music that makes it heartfelt. Like remembrances, while going back into the past, each song becomes an epitome of sentimentality and meditation. The album begins with “No. 9”, which is a gentle, uncomplicated piece. The melody’s softness gives one a feeling of yearning and reminiscing about days gone by. Afterwards comes “No. 12”, which has more form to it. It feels like a reconstructed old memory when one listens to it because there are light piano notes accompanied by soft sounds in the background.
“The Summer Morning in Minsk” stands as the album’s climax point. This piece was inspired by morning after night spent on the roof with friends, so it is warm and happy at the same time; in addition to that, it contains light beats and mellow music for visualizing the golden sky and calm morning hours. “Metallic” changes its direction towards sharp experimental noise hereafter. The plans were primarily based on metallic soundings together with multiple-stratum rhythms symbolizing unexpected trials or shifts in life. “No 6”, however, slows down and carries more emotion in its content. As if someone were thinking silently about loss and change, this haunting tone takes on an intimate nature too.

The year of “Odessa, 1978” is a combination of old and new sounds. It’s flipping through photographs, every note capturing one rare event in the past. The last track, “No.11”, is a bittersweet yet hopeful song. It brings you peace to remind you that life itself is beautiful; even so when it becomes tough.
