Anthony Quaid’s newest single “Do I Scare You?” has been released.  This song’s title is truly a fierce statement that emphasizes and acknowledges the hurdles constant with the LGBTQ+ community song, which draws on his upbringing in the rigid environment of his home state in America, is an unrestrained endorsement of pride and self-love. It is the lead single from his EP scheduled for release in 2025 and is indicative of great things to come.

The song opens with haunting strings recorded by a Ukrainian ensemble, immediately pulling listeners into its emotional depth. Quaid’s baritone voice is noticeably deep as he strikes frigid verses breezily, cutting right through the audience. The simplicity in the line “I don’t f*ing care about a thing when I’m kissing my babe, welcome to reality, it’s my sexuality” shows how drastically he wishes to alter the assumptions about him. The studio production, which was completed with Max Steger, incorporates a unique feeling into the unique combination of pop beats with an orchestra. The chorus is quite catchy and is full of rough energy so that everyone can join in the defiance. And the strong vocal parts – sound a bit like Sam Smith and Demi Lovato – sounded even more emotionally powerful.

The music’s eloquence is paralleled only by the message it intends to deliver. Quaid shares how years of fear and suppression shaped his perspective, but “Do I Scare You?” marks a turning point. This song is for everyone who felt like they were ridiculed or never fit in, it urges everyone to stand their ground and accept who they are. Anthony Quaid has done much more than sing a song – this is most likely a movement infused with pop songs. “Do I Scare You?” lets you know it’s OK to be you, that it’s the most empowering thing anyone can be and something the world needs to hear.
