Cincinnati’s singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Catlea released her much-anticipated new single, “Crumbling”, on August 2nd. Heavily influential in the alt-indie, rock pop, and EDM genres, Catlea brings out another dimension of vocal staging in her music, sometimes angelic and at other times powerful and raw.
The new single “Crumbling” is another bouncy tune, with lyrics that begin with a hopeful piano and end with a catchy, upbeat choral section. The song explores the unachievable nature of expectations and the process of self-rebuilding. Catlea can deliver feelings that one can hardly express in words with such an attitude of creativity. However, she uses this track to convey vulnerability in a playfully serious manner. Notably, Catlea has this to say about the meaning in her life, which music provides that for her, music has been what it’s all about. It awakens her in the morning, propels her through the day, and instils in her a sense of purpose and meaning in a world where everything appears to be a series of changes. “Crumbling” is an only song that conveys a positive message to the listener, effectively captures this sentiment.
Over the past three years, Catlea has worked on mastering ten brand new tracks of alt-indie music for the album “Language Barrier”. The single “Crumbling” was produced by Claudia Mills (BITTERS) and features Nick Tsang (Ed Sheeran, The Script, Lewis Capaldi) on piano. The track was mixed and mastered by renowned mixer Jason Boshoff (Josh Groban, David Gray, Rufus Wainwright) at Room to Studios in Barcelona, Spain, with vocals recorded locally at PLAY Audio. This is just the beginning of Catlea’s journey to deliver songs that would touch and stir up the emotions every time when listen to it. She has uploaded her latest play, “Crumbling”, on all platforms, promising an unforgettable musical performance.
