The house influence in Pronto Valid’s “UK V!BES” injects an addictive freshness to his sound. The single, out on July 4th, 2025, is not a traditional Chicago rap track. The sonic fusion of house and hip-hop is executed effortlessly over the work of producer Zeelaa. You can hear the UK house influence, but it doesn’t feel like it’s swallowed Pronto’s DNA whole. His incorporation of the genre isn’t so heavy that it overshadows the essence of his music. The instrumentals, which take influence from Skrillex and BEAM’s “Selecta”, are both tight and groovy, yet there’s enough space left in the track for Pronto’s vocals to slice through cleanly. The bounce that keeps listeners hooked is irresistible whether for summer playlists, cruising down nighttime streets, or booming through a speaker at any event.
Vocally, Pronto glides easily over Zeelaa’s playful yet driving production. He knows when to come hard into a track, and when to back off a bit, keeping things fresh and exciting without being overbearing. The vibe of the record itself lets you know that the project is less about jumping on the latest trend or haphazardly injecting random genres into his sound and more about the artist just having fun and trying something new. Part of the infectious appeal of “UK V!BES” is that it almost seems like the two completely different styles of Chicago rap and UK house should’ve already been fused together. In other words, the fun isn’t being forced. That’s not to say that Pronto isn’t pushing at his own edges by creating the single, but rather the end product is new without feeling so forced and intentional that it’s a headache to listen to.
Live shows with even more juice than the recorded track are following this new song in Pronto’s repertoire. On July 19th, he’ll be at The Point in Chicago opening for Yung Bleu, and then again on July 26th at The Piazza in Aurora, IL for his first outdoor show. With this track and live shows like these, Pronto is clearly working to solidify his own sound rather than just tinker with it, and if “UK V!BES” is any indication, it will be something to both watch and listen to.
