It is almost inexplicably fun with none of the pretenses and self-indulgent production that can burden music with unnecessary baggage. The mix of ethereal electronic and infectious indie pop work wonders together, and you will probably find yourself unconsciously tapping along to the infectious percussion.
RSAI is one of those artists that understands how to make a song that is both fresh and bursting with good energy, and still manage to ground the work in honesty and sincerity. The vocals mirror this approach, with a warm, smooth vocal delivery matching the groove of the beat. Everything is laid back and effortless here; the vocal work is not being hard or trying to over-sell its chops, instead it perfectly complements the melodies and rhythms of the track. The chorus is a magical moment of sheer effervescence that I guarantee it will brighten up your day. I can imagine this song having an audience sing-along, everyone screaming along with their hands in the air just savoring each other’s presence. The ability to wring an emotional punch out of a bouncy pop song is something special in itself, but RSAI has the talent and technique to pull it off. The lyrics and performances are full of a sense of liberation, whether that means driving with your windows down or running barefoot in the light of a backyard bonfire.
RSAI is a refreshing artist in that he follows his own instincts and does not seek to ride a musical trend. He seems to only write what his gut and heart feel is best, which in the case of “Let the Good Times Roll” is a straight up dance jam with no distractions and a powerful message of living in the moment.
