After a year off, the band Everything But The Everything, from the Bay Area, is back. They have new music. The lead singer, Izzy The Gent, and the band are still making fun and energetic punk rock music. Their latest album, “A&B Sides Vol. Two”, came out on June 27. The band “Everything But The Everything” has four members, Sophia Prise (vocals), Ian Dowd (guitar), Chad Roxxit (drums), and Izzy The Gent (bass and other instruments). Some members have played in different bands before, like Ian and Izzy, who were both in JonBenet Stranglehold, and Chad, who was in The Hot Takes. The band’s new 7-inch record has two songs, “Hotshot” and “Salt”. They worked with a producer named Rex Shelverton to make these songs.

Everything But The Everything

Izzy The Gent has a humorous story about the recording, he brought a cheap $99 keyboard to the studio, but Rex didn’t mind. Instead, Rex used his old equipment to make the keyboard sound excellent and unique. The song “Hotshot” has a new wave style and shows off Sophia’s emotional singing. Izzy remembers Sophia coming up with the melody, she thought it was a simple addition to their set. But Izzy made it more challenging by creating a complicated melody with many words instead of something easy and safe. The song “Salt” combines the energy of punk rock with catchy pop melodies. Izzy wanted to add a new song to their set list and chose “Salt”. He enjoyed the demo version and thought it had great energy. He told the band to learn the song quickly, with only two rehearsals left before the show. When they rehearsed together and Sophia sang the chorus, Izzy knew they had created something special.

The album “A&B Sides Vol. Two” shows how creative and passionate the band is about music. They play different types of songs, from energetic punk to emotional ballads, and they do it all genuinely and skillfully. The band expresses many feelings in their music and does it well.
