Los Angeles artist/writer/producer Long Gone Blond recorded her new release “HGS” between her home studio in Echo Park, California and an off-grid house in Joshua Tree.

LGB named her track in a moment she had watching a hummingbird dart back and forth outside her window. “As my own personal truths broke through – everything went sideways. There was a loss of equilibrium that came with shifting into a new perspective.”

The track lives between trip hop and experimental electronic. Its  downtempo feel features a haunting guitar riff by her sometime  bandmate, Dion Macellari, who also played in her 90s rock project,  Josephine the Singer.

Maggie adopted the LGB moniker from a song she wrote as she turned  the page on her previous chapter in Josephine the Singer.

When the January fires hit in Los Angeles, she was on the verge of releasing her track. As a native Angeleno, she wondered how she could possibly focus on promoting her music at that moment, but then she thought the song is really about loss, healing through chaos and that it was right on time, so she released it into the slipstream of consciousness.

“They can’t steal the truth – cuz you can feel the truth.”
