The studio album ‘Truly Madly Fairytales’ by Edward Cullen’s Different Drum is a chaos of sounds inspired by his struggles with love, pain, and forgiveness in an attempt to reinvision classical dramas into a gospel. The tracks delve into themes of grief and sympathy and on their own resemble a massive jumble. The self-portraiture featured on the album as well as his ability to play several instruments, write songs, and produce music exemplifies Edward’s brilliance as an artist and is breathtaking in the way it is shown through Canada, London, and North Wales. So let us move on. It is time to indulge in the sweets and sours hidden within the passages of this album. The album starts with the song “Prologue (Looking for the Answer to It All Pt.1)” which draws listeners in with beautiful prose and brings their attention through the chilling notes. Listeners get captivated by Edward’s soul soothes soul which is outerworldly. The song “Icarus” draws from Greek mythology but he spins in glory for his ambition and caution through the psychedelic instrumentals. Friends of Walker’s dream to fly too close to the sun made their way into the lyrics of this song.

“Rapunzel Stay Beautiful” is an emotional ballad on self-love exclaiming courage song that shifts to a new interpretation of the beloved tale of Rapunzel. With its soothing acapella and guitar chords, it most definitely takes the game. More self-absorbance and doubting are represented with the polished unsettling phrase “mirror mirror” which also serves as a more evil gem. It is a more modern take on snow-white-themed songs. “Rosebud” softly plays primordially childlike too while the accompaniment is as simple as one plus one to deeply convey Edward’s sorrowful voice as it deserves. The song “In Salt Over Gold (Part 1)” introduces notions of sacrifice and loyalty set to a song with a folk-style melody. Accompanied by “Salt Over Gold (Part 1)”, the story is complemented with more intense instrumentals in “Salt Over Gold (Part 2)”. “Song Of Water” on the other hand cannot be imagined without water, which perfectly depicts something so delicate and beautiful! It’s soothing and comforting with some hints of melancholy and a masterly flow of gorgeous melodies.

The later songs off of “Cinderella and the Pious Prince (Pt. 2)” have soft interweaving lyrics that bring much sorrow yet also deliver the audience a taste of sweetness as the audience feels bids of such unlike the traditional silver screen fairy tale version. “A Very Happy Ending” sets a new standard by introducing melodic cheerful instruments that question and break apart the older traditions of a ‘happy ever after’ making it more suitable for this modern world. “Getting On and Getting By” is an upbeat song that features powerful vocals: A Performer Italia puts his heart into every strum, and captures the essence of perseverance. Bigger picture, a speaker and a listener come together for the final dissolvent as the album ends on a nostalgic yet optimistic note. Here, Edward Cullen’s ‘Truly Madly Fairytales’ is a piece of visual art in itself. Not only is the album truly deep in its stories but innovative as well, making it a masterpiece from the deeply put approach, unlike any others.
